RhinoBond: Better Wind Performance with Fewer Fasteners
RhinoBond is a revolutionary insulation and membrane attachment system for installing TPO and PVC membranes that provides higher wind ratings with 25 to 50% fewer fasteners.

The system uses one fastener and plate to secure both the insulation and the membrane without penetrating the roof cover. There are no seam fasteners and since the fastening points are spread across the roof in a grid pattern, the uplift load is distributed more evenly, providing higher wind ratings and virtually eliminating rooftop flutter.

RhinoBondRhinoBond is based on patented welding technology. Just put the RhinoBond tool on the membrane directly over the specially coated plate and activate the tool to bond the underside of the membrane to the plate.

In addition to providing superior wind uplift performance, RhinoBond is easy-to-use and approved by FM as well as most roofing system manufacturers.

Hercules Drain and UFlow SealsEarn More in 15 Minutes
Hercules RetroDrains provide contractors with an option to earn more. Typical installation time is 15 to 30 minutes, and the entire installation is completed from the rooftop, so you won’t disturb your customers or their business operations.

A key component of the Hercules RetroDrain – and most other OlyFlow Drains – is the watertight mechanical U-Flow Seal on the drain stem that prevents damage to the roof or building from water back-up.

Simply insert the drain stem with U-Flow Seal into the existing drain pipe, and secure it to the deck. Flash the drain according to the roof manufacturer specifications and expand the U-Flow Seal in place. That’s it! It’s fast and easy!

Watch VideoHercules RetroDrains exceed ANSI/SPRI RD-1 standards and are available to fit existing 3 to 6 inch drain pipes. Visit Hercules RetroDrains or your local roofing distributor for more information.

Pull Tests Help to Ensure Proper Selection and Performance
Pull Test The attachment of the fastener to the roof deck is critical to the performance of the roofing system. Therefore, before deciding which OMG fastening solution to use on your next project, it’s a good idea to have a pull test completed.

Pull tests are used to determine on-site conditions. While pull tests are frequently requested for new construction projects, good roofing practice suggests they should always be preformed on re-roofing projects to determine the condition and suitability of the deck. This is particularly important as buildings age. Deck materials – steel, concrete, wood, cementitious wood fiber, gypsum, lightweight insulating concrete, etc. – are subject to a wide variety of conditions that can affect their performance and ability to hold fasteners or adhesives over time.

The ANSI/SPRI FX-1 standard requires 10 pullout tests for roofs up to 50,000 sq. ft., and another five tests for each additional 50,000 square feet or portion thereof. At least 50% must be conducted in corners and around the perimeter. Additional pull tests may be necessary based on the condition of the substrate.

OMG field technicians are trained to perform these tests to help ensure that you get the best solution for your project. If you would like a pull test for your next project, click the email request button below.

Adjustable Pipe Supports Outperform Wooden Blocks

Adjustable PipeGuard OMG’s Height Adjustable PipeGuard is a safer alternative to traditional pressure treated wood blocks that rot and splinter over time and can damage the roofing system.

The Height Adjustable PipeGuard supports small rooftop pipes 5- to 8.5-inches off the surface of the roof, and will accommodate pipes from one-half to four-inches in diameter.

Old WoodMade with a heavy duty EPDM base and adjustable cradle, the Height Adjustable PipeGuard accommodates steel, copper and PVC pipes, solar and electrical conduit, as well as gas and utility lines.

OMG PipeGuard is easy-to-install, does not require any special tools or clamps and will not deteriorate from water or sunlight exposure.

Visit Height Adjustable PipeGuard or your local roofing distributor for more information.

Use OlyLoks to Secure Base-Ply, Recovery Board and Insulation

OlyLok Use the OlyLok Locking Impact Nail to secure base-ply, recovery board or insulation to lightweight insulating concrete, cementitious wood fiber and poured gypsum decks.

Designed for easy penetration of the deck and ease of installation, OlyLok fasteners have a rib-reinforced plate that resists cupping. A high tensile steel locking staple anchors the fastener in place for maximum uplift performance. In some reroofing applications longer length OlyLok fasteners may provide increased performance.

OlyLok Fasteners are available in five lengths from 1.4- to 4.8-inches and are FM and Miami Dade approved. Consult FM or the roofing system manufacturer for specific approvals. Contact your local roofing distributor or visit OlyLok for additional information.

Screw Guns:
Check Your Speed!

Gun Speed
Fasteners are a key component of many roofing systems and proper fastener selection is imperative if the system is to perform as intended. However proper selection should not be limited to the fasteners; you also need the proper screw gun.

Today’s screw guns have a host of important characteristics such as weight, portability, durability and speed. Of these, speed and torque are the most critical considerations.

For best results, use tools designed for roofing, not drywall. On steel and concrete decks, we recommend using a variable speed 0–2500 RPM tool. For heavy steel decks or purlin applications a high torque, low RPM screw gun is best.

Resist the temptation to think “faster is better.” Faster guns can burn out the fastener tip and prevent it from doing its job of cutting into the substrate. So when you are selecting the proper fastener, don’t forget to consider the screw gun too.

NHPTV RhinoBond
RhinoBond Hits
the NH Airways

Since 1959, New Hampshire Public Television has provided programs and services for the Granite State and northern New England. The station reaches nearly 500,000 households each week.

NHPTV’s Broadcast Center in Durham is home to state-of-the-art digital production and broadcast equipment. So when it was time to re-roof the facility, it was critical to find a solution that could be installed quickly and quietly to minimize interruptions to the station’s operations.

A&M Roofing Services of Andover, Mass., a 31-year-old full-service commercial roofing contractor was awarded the project using Sika Sarnafil’s RhinoBond System.
