Promote safety as OMG’s number one priority, developing safe work practices and ensuring that established guidelines are followed.
Promote Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing, driving achievement of goals set and providing training for employees.
Review production requirements and adjust work schedules to meet objectives.
Develop new, and track existing, cost savings and productivity improvement initiatives, including efforts to increase tool life.
Effectively manage shift workers, including hiring, training, employee development, performance reviews, addressing disciplinary issues and resolving employee problems.
Communicate and implement company policy.
Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Confer with other supervisors to insure supervisory coverage across all shifts during paid and unpaid leaves, and coordinate specific company activities of individual departments and shifts.
Perform other duties as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
5+ years management or supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing experience required.
Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.
Desire and willingness to institute change.
Capable of overcoming obstacles and completing assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to motivate individuals and teams to perform at high levels to meet or exceed goals.
Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on leadership capacity.
Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude for understanding and troubleshooting new and existing mechanical processes.
PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite preferred.
Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Good close vision and depth perception skills.
Industrial forklift certification preferred.
