Responsibilities

  • Promote safety as OMG’s number one priority, developing safe work practices and ensuring that established guidelines are followed.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing, driving achievement of goals set and providing training for employees.
  • Review production requirements and adjust work schedules to meet objectives.
  • Develop new, and track existing, cost savings and productivity improvement initiatives, including efforts to increase tool life.
  • Effectively manage shift workers, including hiring, training, employee development, performance reviews, addressing disciplinary issues and resolving employee problems.
  • Communicate and implement company policy.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Confer with other supervisors to insure supervisory coverage across all shifts during paid and unpaid leaves, and coordinate specific company activities of individual departments and shifts.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years management or supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.
  • Desire and willingness to institute change.
  • Capable of overcoming obstacles and completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to motivate individuals and teams to perform at high levels to meet or exceed goals.
  • Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on leadership capacity.
  • Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for understanding and troubleshooting new and existing mechanical processes.
  • PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Good close vision and depth perception skills.
  • Industrial forklift certification preferred.
